PMP

What is the PMP certification all about?

The PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a globally recognized credential awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to professionals who demonstrate knowledge and experience in project management.

You need 35 hours of project management education or 35 PDUs to apply for the PMP credential.

Your PMP certification comes with a validity of 3 years. And during this period, you need to earn PDUs to keep your credentials active. You can do this by increasing your knowledge by enrolling in other courses and attending events recognized by PMI. You can even earn part of the required PDUs by mentoring others. It is crucial to earn at least 60 PDUs in three years to retain your PMP credential.

To be eligible for PMP certification you should have at least three years of project management experience and a bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent. You should have 4,500 hours of project management experience and 35 hours of project management training comprising your three years of experience.

Here are some benefits of getting PMP certified:

  • It enhances the worth and authority of your resume and offers industry recognition.
  • It helps you earn PDUs that help fulfill Continuous Credential Requirements or CCRs.
  • It aids in learning and skill development.
  • It enables you to achieve a higher salary.
  • It offers chances to network and builds significant relationships.
  • It validates your efforts and gives you a chance to showcase your leadership qualities.

PDUs and SEUs are credits awarded by the Project Management Institute and Scrum Alliance respectively. They recognize your dedication to Project Management and the Agile world through the award of credits for every educational effort you make throughout your career. Scrum Alliance members who hold a credential from Scrum Alliance need to earn SEUs to get recertified every two years. Every PMI® certification, except the CAPM®, requires you to earn a specific number of PDUs per three-year certification cycle to maintain your credentials.

The path to PMP (Project Management Professional) certification involves several steps:

  1. The candidates must understand the eligibility requirements and check whether they qualify for the examination.
  2. They need to register for the exam and Undertake 35 hours of training from an authorized training partner of PMI.
  3. Prepare a plan for the PMP exam. The exam assesses the candidates’ knowledge in project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
  4. Take the exam and become a certified PMP professional.
The PMP certification is globally recognized and highly respected in the field of project management. This is because the certification demonstrates an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience in leading and delivering successful projects.

According to estimates by Forbes and Glassdoor, PMP-certified professionals have an upward salary of $123,000 per year—a 32% increase over their non-certified colleagues.

Scrum

What is a Scrum Master certification?
Considered the gold standard of certification, the Scrum Master certification is a credential that validates an individual’s knowledge and expertise in Scrum, an agile project management framework. It demonstrates proficiency in facilitating Scrum practices, promoting collaboration, and helping teams deliver value through iterative development.

Pursuing a Scrum Master certification equips you with the skills and knowledge to effectively lead Scrum teams, drive project success, and adapt to changing project requirements. It enhances job prospects and opens up opportunities in agile organizations.

To obtain a Scrum Master certification, you typically need to complete a training course accredited by a recognized Scrum certifying body, the Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org. The training covers Scrum principles, roles, ceremonies, and practices. After completing the training, you must pass an exam to demonstrate your understanding of Scrum concepts and applications. Once you pass the exam, you will be awarded the Scrum Master certification.

The Scrum Master focuses on process facilitation and collaboration, coaching Agile teams, facilitating Scrum events, and ensuring adherence to the Scrum framework. While the Product Owner focuses on maximizing product value, prioritizing software requirements, creating and maintaining the product backlog, and representing stakeholders’ interests.

The Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) training program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Scrum framework from a product owner’s perspective. It covers the roles, responsibilities, and skills required to prioritize and manage product backlogs, collaborates with stakeholders, and maximize the value delivered by the Scrum team.

Pursuing the Scrum Product Owner certification validates your knowledge and expertise in product ownership within the Scrum framework, enhancing your credibility and expertise. The certification equips you with essential skills to prioritize, plan, and deliver valuable products, enabling you to excel as a Product Owner. It also provides access to a global community of practitioners, networking opportunities, and resources for continuous learning and professional growth.

Our training program will provide you with practical insights into the role. You will engage with industry experts to learn essential skills, techniques, and best practices to effectively prioritize, manage stakeholder relationships, create a product backlog, and maximize product value, helping you make informed decisions that drive successful product outcomes.

In an Agile organization, the Scrum Master plays a crucial role as a facilitator and servant leader. They ensure the successful implementation of the Scrum framework, support the Scrum team, and promote effective collaboration. The Scrum Master removes obstacles, guides the team in self-organization, facilitates Scrum events, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

Learners can start their journey by obtaining the Scrum Master certification and then move to advanced certification courses like the Advanced Certified Scrum Master, SAFe® 6.0 Scrum Master, and Certified Agile Coach.
